Carrying the theme, “PCG@123: Matatag, Handa at Maaasahan Tungo sa Mapayapa at Mapanatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” today’s celebration also honors the PCG’s legacy in over a century.
During the program, PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan presents the organization’s accomplishment report, highlighting their successful operation in addressing the needs of the Filipino people, particularly the fisherfolk, as they continue to protect the country’s maritime borders while standing resolute in the face of those who would exploit the nation’s resources and threaten the Filipinos’ way of life.
President Marcos Jr. likewise confers the PCG Anniversary Awards to 14 dedicated personnel who have demonstrated exceptional performance and commitment in carrying out their duties for the Coast Guard. These individuals have consistently gone above and beyond their responsibilities, exemplifying the highest standards of service and professionalism in their roles.
The PCG fulfills vital roles as the country’s primary maritime search and rescue organization, enforcer of maritime laws, guardian of maritime safety, protector of the maritime environment and defender of maritime security.
