During the virtual forum anchored by writer and entertainment journalist Nestor Cuartero, educator, nurse and businessman Carl Balita hinted he might produce a film again when one of the members of the press from the gallery, Ed de Leon, asked about his plans in support of the local movie industry.

Malalaman ninyo na lang. Magpapatawag ulit ako ng presscon para i-announce ko. Maybe next week, magpapatawag ulit ako (You will be informed. I will ask for a presscon again to announce something. I will call for a presscon next week),” Carl said, thrilled by his own clue of a possible film production.

In 2007, Balita produced the independent film “Nars” which starred an array for award-winning actors namely, Jaclyn Jose, Jennylyn Mercado, Kristofer King, Coco Martin, Agot Isidro, Joseph Bitangcol, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Harlene Bautista, Jon Avila, Bianca King, Jodi Sta. Maria, among others, under Carl & Carl Productions directed by prizewinning filmmaker Adolf Alix, Jr.

At the moment, Carl is committed to promote agriculture in the country as one of his platforms if elected in the Senate.

Kailangan nating i-promote ang ating agrikultura. Bagsak ang agriculture sa ating bansa pero ito ang dapat nating asikasuhin (We need to promote our agriculture. Our agriculture is down so this should be our priority),” he quipped on his point in gist.

According to Balita, he has been travelling around, initially in the northern part of the country, like Mountain Province, Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizacya to see for himself the farming situation in the countryside.
