The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) has recorded its first milestone by reaching the 20,000 benchmark with its aggressive senior citizen online registration campaign through the official ncsc.gov.ph website.
The record feat was achieved last December 8, barely 10 days after it was officially launched on Nov. 28 that also resulted in identifying four more centenarians from various regions of the country.
The latest count of successful senior citizen registrants on the ncsc.gov.ph website has reached 31,241 as of 4:22 pm on Sunday (Dec. 11) or an encouraging average of 4,000 plus registrants per day.
Breaking down the Top Five successful senior citizen registrants per region are as follows: National Capital Region (NCR) – 9,892 registrants, Region 4-A -8,489, Region 11- 2474, Region 3 – 2,163 and Region 7 – 1,804.
Under the new improved and enhanced senior citizen data forms, the NCSC has added some vital features to include the older person’s source of income (if any), skill set and health profile, among others.
NCSC Chairman Atty. Franklin Quijano earlier said that the enhanced NCSC senior citizens data form can be accessed and downloaded via the official National Commission of Senior Citizens website – ncsc.gov.ph – wherein internet savvy users can fill up the forms and sign up for free without hassle.
Quijano explained that NCSC’s aggressive online registration campaign is part of its effort to build an updated, enhanced and reliable database of all Filipino senior citizens as it generates faster collection of data than manual registration.
He however added that for those who are digitally-challenged or living in areas where there is no internet connectivity, they can still do it through regional NCSC coordinators, who bring with them hard copies of forms and physically interact with seniors and have them fill up the forms manually.
A database is an organized collection of structured information, or data, typically stored electronically in a computer system. A database is usually controlled by a database management system (DBMS).
Together, the data and the DBMS, along with the applications that are associated with them, are referred to as a database system, often shortened to just database.
Data within the most common types of databases in operation today is typically modeled in rows and columns in a series of tables to make processing and data querying efficient. The data can then be easily accessed, managed, modified, updated, controlled, and organized.
Most databases use structured query language (SQL) for writing and querying data and in this case, it will be customized to determine the total number of senior citizens nationwide to include their enhanced and updated profile.
According to the latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were 12,336,355 Filipinos aged 60 years old and above as of May 2020.
The total number of senior citizens was 11.31 percent of the country’s estimated total population at 109,035,343, based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH).

wonderful information
This is really commendable , given clear numbers mean focused goals and straight programs for the seniors . I am glad atty. Quijano is doing great.
There is a slight correction on my registration.. please delete the character – in my name Nillas, Arzeri Absin.. In my registration my name appears as Nillas, Arzeri Absin- under RRN 23280 because I placed – in the name extension..
Please rectify.
Thank you very much.

There are still many Senior Citizen groups here in Region Xi who have not submitted their forms. I had help my brother and his wife fill in the form but i think this will not be good enough because in online registration there presence is needed. In the bario internet is very weak I hope scanning can be done just to justify the effort we made in going there to help them fill in the form.
Sir, I have filled and submitted my data form last Dec. 2022. I already recived my RRN and my PKN but I don’t know if I’m registered. Please inform me the status of my registration. Thankyou sir.
