The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) continued its golden anniversary festivities with a Celebrity Golf Tournament held at Wack Wack Golf & Country Club in Mandaluyong City.
The event brought together an exciting blend of sportsmanship, entertainment, and celebration in honor of MMFF’s 50-year milestone.
The tournament teed off with a ceremonial drive led by MMDA and MMFF Concurrent Chairman Romando Artes and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, marking the start of the afternoon game. Players from the entertainment and business sectors participated, showcasing camaraderie and support for the MMFF’s enduring legacy in Philippine cinema.
“The tournament is part of the promotional activities of the MMFF’s 50th edition and at the same time a fund-raising event. Proceeds of the tournament will go to the MowelFund (Movie Workers Welfare Foundation) and a nonprofit and nonstock organization founded by First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, which aims to promote Filipino films in the international scene,” said Artes.
The celebration extended into the evening with a grand banquet, which opened for morning players, followed by a dynamic lineup of entertainment. Hosted by Enchong Dee, the event featured an electrifying performance by the Reo Brothers band.
In a speech, Chairman Artes, reflected on the MMFF’s journey over the past five decades and the immense contribution of the Filipino film industry to the nation’s culture and identity.
Some of the celebrities who joined the golf tournament included Cristine Reyes, Epi Quizon, Atoy Co, Paolo Paraiso, Daisy Reyes, Jayson Gainza, Marco Gumabao, Christian Bautista, Mitoy Yonting, Vince Hizon, Patricia bermudez Hizon, Cesar Montano, Daisy Reyes, LA Tenorio, among others.
The program also included the much-anticipated awarding ceremony for the tournament’s top performers, who were recognized for their exceptional skills and sportsmanship.
The Celebrity Golf Tournament was not just a celebration of sports but also a tribute to the enduring legacy of the MMFF.
