By Riza Lozada  Construction materials retailer Wilcon Depot Inc., which had its initial public offer (IPO) last Friday, aims to boost sales by as much as 20 percent starting next year with an aggressive store expansion program to be funded by the P7-billion proceeds from the float, which was the largest all-domestic offering in the capital market. 

Listed restaurant chained Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. (PIZZA) posted a net income of P760 million for last year buoyed by stronger sales, an expanded store network, and improved profitability. 

Top food canner Century Pacific Food Inc. (CNPF) reported a full-year consolidated net income of P2.66 billion in 2016, which was a 37 percent increase from a year ago on the back of continued revenue growth and the consolidation of its recently acquired coconut subsidiary. 

Local steel maker SteelAsia and its chief executive officer Benjamin Yao have been named finalists in the two top categories of the prestigious Platts Global Metals Awards. 

By Riza Lozada  The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved the initial public offering (IPO) of local investment holding firm Pure Energy Holdings Corp. (PEHC) that the company hopes can raise for it P1.47 billion in new capital. 

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has certified the Laguna Gateway Inland Container Terminal Inc. (LGICT), the dry port container handling facility of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) in Calamba City, Laguna, as an authorized Off-Dock Customs Facility (OCF). 

Del Monte Pacific Limited (DMPL) listed both in Singapore and the Philippines reported a net income of $8.5 million for its third quarter fiscal year ending January, a turnaround from the net loss of $4.8 million in the third quarter last year. 

By Riza Lozada Conglomerate LT Group Inc. (LTG) booked a 42-percent increase in profit in 2016, driven mainly by banking, tobacco and beverage businesses with a net income of P9.39 billion last year from P6.6 billion in 2015.

Food manufacturer Del Monte Pacific Limited (Del Mon­te) will conduct a primary offer of up to 15 million preferred shares and up to 10 million in oversubscription option scheduled for listing at the local bourse in April.
