Celebrities: Victims, savers

Heavy rains that caused floods and landslides in various parts of the country when three typhoons, namely, Crising, Dante and Emong and Habagat (west monsoon) struck all at the same time have left victims and rescuers acting and sharing survival kit together.

Floods spare no one, celebrities or not. Here, we see victims among celebs like entertainment writer Erlinda Rapadas T. who has always been tirelessly drying up waters inside her house in Antipolo City. “Sawa na ako pag may bagyo (I am fed up during typhoons),” lamented Erlinda. Actress Janice Jurado braved the floods in Novaliches. Cristina Crisol’s house in Pampanga, almost immersed in water.

Rescuers, among celebs, were active as well like Dingdong Dantes who still has his Lfy Saver app to report flood situations in many areas. Philippine army reservist, singer Ronnie Liang, helped the GMA Network’s Kapuso Foundation in distributing relief goods to hapless victims of Crising, Dante, Emong and Habagat.

Likewise, ABS-CBN’s Belle Mariano came to the rescue of flood victims of Taytay, Rizal by giving them food, water, moral courage etc.

Celebs are unselfish, indeed, during disasters. (Boy Villasanta)
