Actress Gretchen Barretto is on the hot seat when she was implicated in the disappearance of cockfighters hooked on e-sabong.
Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Thursday that Gretchen and businessman Atong Ang are now considered suspects in the case and must be investigated.
This developed after Julie “Dondon” Patindongan, alias “Totoy,” one of the accused in the abduction of the missing sabungeros (cockfight enthusiasts), came out to say that businessman Ang and three others were involved with the disappearances.
Barretto, through her legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga, denied allegations that she is involved in the disappearances of the online cockfighters.
Atty. Mallonga said that her client was merely one of the twenty (20) investors, categorized as alpha members, in e-sabong operations.
