Julio Diaz is now a freeman

After almost three relatively long years of incarceration due to drug charges at the Bulacan Provincial Jail in Malolos City, award-winning actor Julio Diaz was recently released from jail.

Julio’s freedom was a welcome treat to his colleagues and friends in show business as they were all praying and hoping that he turned over a new leaf.

Now, Diaz isn’t only enjoying his civil rights, he is back to work as well.

Immediately after his discharge from prison, he was called in by internationally acclaimed director Brillante Ma. Mendoza to star in his latest outing, “Apag,” a foray into the food culture of Pampanga.

“Nagsu-shooting na agad si Julio (Julio is already shooting),” exclaimed Tony del Rosario, one of Brillante’s confidantes at the Centerstage Productions, the company making the movie.

“Mabuti naman (It’s good),” quipped Tony.

Julio stars in the film with Jaclyn Jose, Gina Pareño, Gladys Reyes, Vince Rillon, Lito Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin and Coco Martin, among others.
