Although still untitled, the new noontime show of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon will be aired in TV5.
Mediaquest Group, headed by Jane Basas recently announced the transfer of Tito, Vic and Joey (TVJ) and the rest of their co-hosts, collectively known as Dabarkads, to a new home after their departure from Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), Inc. on May 31, 2023 when they were not allowed by its new management to go on air live over GMA Network.
Basas said Mediaquest Group is happy and excited about partnership with TVJ.
While the title “Eat Bulaga” still remains with TAPE and Channel 7, it is not known yet if the same title would be employed by TVJ in TV5.
But the Sotto brothers and de Leon recently consulted the help of Atty. Enrique “Buko” de la Cruz of the Divina Law Office about the legal ownership of the title “Eat Bulaga.”
According to TVJ, the title is rightfully theirs but lawyers of TAPE believe otherwise.
This court battle over intellectual property is the most crucial part of the struggle between TVJ and TAPE.
Meanwhile, in the launch of the new “Eat Bulaga” last June 5, 2023, it still carried the program’s acronym and contracted form “EB” at the backdrop with new hosts Paolo Contis, Alexa Miro, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar and siblings Mavy and Cassy Legaspi.
