In Cabatuan, Iloilo, we met a young man, MJ Pueyo, whom we found out sings well and really wants to be a pop singer.

MJ has the looks, the height (5’ 9”), the body, and the personality of a showbiz idol.

At 20, he looks like he is just in his late teens. Super handsomely boyish, eh!

Actually, he has become a heartthrob in town, because he has been performing in social and cultural events there, including local beauty pageants in which he is always requested to serenade the candidates.

Cabatuan has been a progressive first-class municipality for years now. Its airport has long been re-built and has since been known as Iloilo International Airport. It has a direct flight to Singapore. The town is close to Iloilo City, just a few minutes-drive.

MJ grew up in Germany where his family lived for more than a decade, though his parents are full-blooded Pinoys from Iloilo. His dad is a doctor (MD) who had to work in Germany as a nurse for some years. MJ’s mom was a flight attendant for years in an airline in Germany.

His dad, Elizalde Pueyo, went back to Iloilo way ahead of his family and eventually entered public service there thru politics. Dr. Pueyo was elected member of the provincial board. He is now mayor of Cabatuan. (Yes, we seem to be building up a career as a discoverer of talented children of mayors!)

To make himself an even better and more versatile singer, MJ is now taking a voice workshop. He’ll be in Metro Manila in November by which time we would definitely have some singing engagements in various venues. For bookings and inquiries, please call 09177081964. (Audie See)
