ROBINSONS Land Corp. (RLC) is mobilizing its long-standing industry partners to help improve public spaces, upgrade school facilities and develop tourism attractions in Bacolod City through a community development initiative.
The property developer’s Hand in Hand for Progress platform brings together architects, contractors, paint manufacturers and other companies to support priority projects identified with the Bacolod City Government.
The initiative operates under Bayanihan in Bacolod, a citywide movement that encourages businesses, schools, civic organizations and residents to pool their resources, expertise and volunteer efforts for local development.
Yvonne Flores, RLC’s corporate social responsibility director, said the platform helps identify community needs, mobilize volunteers and match available skills and resources with projects requiring support.
By connecting organizations with specific community initiatives, the program aims to turn collaborative efforts into tangible improvements across the city, she said.
Among the projects is the improvement of Emiliano Lizares National High School, which will benefit from design services by W.V. Coscolluela and Associates and painting support from Boysen.
RLC’s partnership with the architectural firm spans more than four decades, covering developments such as Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Bacolod, Robinsons Pavia, Robinsons Summit Center and Robinsons Equitable Tower.
Boysen, meanwhile, will also provide paint for gateways and pedestrian lanes in other parts of Bacolod.
The Creative Bacolod Tourism Circuit is another focus of the initiative, with participating companies expected to contribute to the improvement of public spaces, installation of directional signage and development of gateways and markers.
Asian Coatings Philippines Inc., through its Rain or Shine Paints brand, will support painting and refurbishment works, while Jakino Designs will help develop gateways, directional signs and markers.
SPES Construction Inc. will undertake the construction of gateways intended to welcome visitors and tourists to the city, according to Flores.
The contractor has more than 30 years of industry experience, with previous projects including Robinsons Gapan, the expansion of Robinsons Dumaguete, Robinsons Starmills and Robinsons Cybergate Iloilo Towers 1, 2 and 3.
Property Maintenance and Gardens Inc. (ProMain), which specializes in landscaping and grounds maintenance, will contribute to the beautification of the tourism circuit. Davies Paints Philippines Inc., another longtime RLC partner, has also pledged support for the initiative.
The planned improvements involve coordinated work on gateways, pedestrian lanes, signage, painted surfaces and landscaped areas to create a more cohesive experience for visitors moving through Bacolod’s tourism destinations.
The current implementation status of the proposed projects, including whether construction and refurbishment have begun or been completed, was not specified.
