Today, Saturday, August 12, 2023 is the last day of viewing on the remains of former undersecretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Martin Dino, also known as the father of actress Liza Dino-Seguerra, ex-chair of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
As such, the elder Dino’s kith and kin rush to Loyola Memorial Chapels along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City to pay their last respects to the fallen public servant.
Ex-president Rodrigo Duterte has already paid his homage to Martin Thursday night later than Senator Bong Go’s throwing his last glances to a former political partymate.
The departed Dino was instrumental in paving the way to Duterte’s reign as elected president of the country when the former recalled his mayoral candidacy in Pasay City.
When the Commission on Elections (Comelec) found him a nuisance candidate, Dino withdrew his Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) to give way to the presidential bid of Duterte.
Since then, Duterte and Dino were allies im the poltical landscape of the nation.
Martin died of lung cancer last August 8.
He is survived by wife Marissa and daughters Liza and Marybell.
He was 66.
