LANDBANK has extended ₱12.6 million in financial assistance and relief support to local government units (LGUs) in Central Luzon affected by Typhoon Neneng and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat). The assistance, partly funded by voluntary cash donations from LANDBANK employees nationwide, supports immediate relief operations and community recovery efforts.
Of the total amount, ₱11.6 million was provided as cash assistance to 46 provincial, city, and municipal governments across Bataan, Bulacan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, and Pampanga. Most of these provinces were placed under a state of calamity after widespread flooding affected almost 2 million families, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted livelihoods.
The remaining ₱1 million was allocated for relief operations in Pampanga, with support from voluntary cash donations from LANDBANK employees nationwide, who each contributed the equivalent of at least one hour of their salary. LANDBANK employees also helped pack and distribute 2,000 grocery packs to flood-affected families in the municipalities of Apalit, Sto. Tomas, and Minalin.
“As communities recover from the effects of Typhoon Neneng and the enhanced southwest monsoon, LANDBANK remains ready to provide timely and meaningful assistance to our kababayans. Together with local governments, we are helping address urgent needs, restore essential services, and support families as they rebuild their lives,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz.
