Manila Water has placed water reliability at the heart of its support for the Department of Education’s (DepEd’s) OPLAN Balik-Eskwela 2025, ensuring that more than 800 public elementary and high schools across its East Zone concession area and Non-East Zone operations are benefitting from reliable and safe water supply especially as schools opened early this week. This nationwide effort underscores the company’s commitment to fostering safe, healthy, and conducive learning environments for Filipino students.
In Metro Manila and Rizal Province, 733 public schools and daycare centers are ensured consistent water pressure, which is valuable to daily school operations and student well-being. Manila Water, through Manila Water Foundation, also donated 20 refrigerated drinking fountains to selected schools, installed five-faucet hygiene facilities in six schools, and implemented Water Asset Installation and Rehabilitation projects in two schools, which included booster pump installations and water tank upgrades. Fifty schools also received desludging services to improve sanitation and prevent environmental hazards.
In partnership with Manila Water Foundation, the company further extended its impact through the distribution of hygiene kits under its Lunas initiative, and the donation of cleaning materials to support this year’s Brigada Eskwela preparations.
